    Professor Emeritus, the University of Tokyo / Director of EDO-TOKYO MUSEUM

    He was born in Nagano prefecture in 1946. He completed a doctoral course at the University of Tokyo. Currently, he is a director of EDO-TOKYO MUSEUM in Tokyo, professor emeritus of the University of Tokyo, and specially appointed professor of Kogakuin University. He authored numerous publications related to modern architecture, the city planning and the street observation such as Meiji no Tokyo Keikaku (Meiji Plans for Tokyo) (Iwanami Shoten, Mainichi Publication Culture Award), Kenchiku Tantei no Boken: Tokyo Hen (Adventures of an Architectural Detective: Tokyo) (Chikuma Shobo, Suntory Prize for Social Sciences and Humanities), Nihon no Kindai Kenchiku the first / the second volume (The Architecture of Modern Japan) (Iwanami Shoten), Jinrui To Kenchiku No Rekishi (The History of Human and Architecture) (Chikuma Shobo), Kenzo Tange (Shinkenchiku-sha).

    As his architectural works, he designed and supervised the Student Dormitory for Kumamoto Agricultural College (AIJ Prize of Architectural Design Division), Kusayane (grass roof) of Omihachiman LA COLLINA, Mosaic Tile Museum Tajimi, and more. Recently, he produces freestyle tea houses overseas.

    As his architectural exhibitions, he worked on Venice Biennale Architecture 2006, “Terunobu Fujimori. Architect Works” (Museum Villa Stuck in Munich) (2012), Terunobu Fujimori: “Architecture with Nature and ‘ROJO’ ” (Art Tower Mito / Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art) (2017)

    Director of National Crafts Museum

    Born in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan in 1964.
    He received master’s degree in fine arts from Aichi University of the Arts. After working as a curator at Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum, he became a chief researcher at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo in 2003, the chief of craft section in 2010 and the director of National Crafts Museum form 2020. In 2021, he became the director of National Crafts Museum.

    He received a prize at the 39th Koyama Fujio Memorial Award in 2018.
    He is an expert in modern and contemporary history of craft and a judge of Japan Ceramic Society Award.

    He authored Kamabetsu Guide Nihon no Yakimono Seto (Guide to Japanese Pottery by Kilns in Seto) (Tankosha Publishing), and he is a co-author of Kamabetsu Guide Nihon no Yakimono Mino (Guide to Japanese Pottery by Kilns in Mino) (Tankosha Publishing), Nihon Yakimonoshi (History of Japanese Pottery) (Bijyutsu Shuppansha).

    He was born in Tokyo in 1977, lives in Kyoto. After he received master’s degree in graduate school of Media And Governance of Keio University, he worked at Nokia Corporation, TOSHIBA CORPORTATION, TOKYO GALLARY +BTAP, and ART iT. And he founded FEC in 2007.

    He deals with planning exhibitions of modern art and crafts, coordination of interaction projects, production support of artists and research on modern art of East Asia.

    After he became an executive director of Art Fair Tokyo from 2011, and an art director of Art Beijing from 2016, currently he is a program director of Art Collaboration Kyoto (ACK) which is a new style art fair held at Kyoto International Conference Center from 2021 while being in the doctoral course of Science of Art, graduate school of arts at Kyoto City University of Arts. He is a part-time teacher of Kyoto University of Art & Design, and Kyoto City University of Arts.

    Patrick Reymond was born in 1962 in Switzerland. He studied architecture and design in Switzerland.
    Together with Armand Louis and Aurel Aebi, he founded atelier oï in 1991 in La Neuveville.
    atelier oï has been striving to dissolve barriers between genres and foster cross-disciplinary creativity for 30 years. Over the course of their achievements, architecture, design and set design have intertwined on an international scale. Transdisciplinarity, team spirit and an intimate approach to the material are their watchwords. Born of an intuitive and emotional affinity with the act of shaping different materials, their projects have been recognized the world over. atelier oï has a special relationship with Japan, a country in which they would like to continue to develop projects. Between experimentation, cultural exchanges and events devoted to their creations, they design for Alias, Artemide, B&B Italia, Bulgari, Chopard, Desalto, Foscarini, Louis Vuitton, Moroso, Nespresso, Parachilna, Passoni, Pringle of Scotland, Rimowa, Röthlisberger, USM, Victorinox, Zanotta and many others.
    Patrick Reymond also teaches in several schools around the world, like the university of Art and Design Lausanne (ECAL) for 13years.

    In 2010, at the invitation of IAC and Chinese Cultural Center in Paris, he held the “Oriental Ceramic Story-Bai Ming Ceramic Art Works Exhibition” in Paris. This exhibition was the only one that represented China in “Foreign Culture Week” held by Paris government that year.

    He held more than 20 solo exhibitions in China, France, Korea, the US and Spain.
    He has published 11 series of books for a total of 19 volumes and also 20 books regarding his own personal work and collections.

    Born in Kyoto prefecture in 1947.
    Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in French literature from Waseda University.
    After working as an editor of Geijutsu Shincho, chief researcher of The National Museum of Art Osaka, professor of Tama Art University, director of The National Museum of Art Osaka, and president of Kyoto City University of Arts, currently he is a president of Tama Art University. He is also a chairman of The Japanese Council of Art Museums and concurrently holds the posts of a director of The Museum of Modern Art SAITAMA, Kyoto Art Center and YAYOI KUSAMA MUSEUM.

    He was a Japanese commissioner for the Venice Biennale in 1990 and 1993 and an artistic director of Yokohama Triennale in 2001, Aichi Triennale in 2010, and “Asian Corridor” which was the main project of Culture City of East Asia Kyoto in 2017.

    As a poetry, he received Rekitei New Poet Award for Yohaku no ranna (Runners in the Margins), Takami Jun Award for Reido no inu (The Dog of Zero degrees), and Hagiwara Sakutaro Award for Shigo no ressun (Lesson of Dead Language).

    Claudia Casali

    Art Historian / Director of the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza (Italy).

    Degree in Preservation of the Cultural Heritage, specialization in History of contemporary art and aesthetic at the University of the Studies in Udine, plus Doctorate (PhD) in the aesthetic field, contemporary art and art critic.

    In 1997 she started a collaboration as art historian and critic with the Modern Art Gallery in Verona, the GAM in Bologna (the contemporary MAMBO), the MAR in Ravenna and since 2011 she has been managing the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza.

    She collaborated with several international museums, taking part to art competitions and commissions for the selection of prizes, in particular in the ceramic field, such as Keskemet Prize (Hungary), the Westerwald Prize (Germany), the Danish Prize (Denmark), the Gmunden Symposium (Austria), Ceramics Academy of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Icheon Biennale Symposium (Korea), Mino International Ceramic Competition (Japan), Latvian Ceramic Biennale (Latvia), Future Makers Award Kilkenny (Ireland), Franz Rising Star Project (Taiwan), Biennale Vallauris (France), Blanc de Chine (China).
    Since 2011, she is the responsible of the International Competition “Faenza Prize”, the longlasting competition in the world devoted to ceramic art (active since 1938) and she is the Director of “Faenza” the oldest review devoted to ceramic research (founded in 1913).

    She often has experiences as lecturers at international symposiums, she curated different exhibitions in Europe and China, she curated books devoted to contemporary art and ceramic art and she constantly follows with a particular care the evolution of contemporary languages of the ceramic art, focusing on new talented and young artists.
    She collaborates with art reviews and, in general, with communication and media focused on art. She teaches history of the art, history of ceramic art and museum disciplines for training course post-degree.
